Staggered Soft-Close Auction
If a bid is placed in the final moments of a listing, the closing time extends automatically. The rules change as the evening goes on:
- 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM: a bid in the final 3 minutes extends the clock 2 minutes
- 8:00 PM to 8:45 PM: a bid in the final 2 minutes extends the clock 1.5 minutes
- 8:45 PM onward: a bid in the final 90 seconds extends the clock 75 seconds
No limit on extensions: bidding continues until a full extension period passes with no new bids. Standard increments apply at all times.
